"Opening the front door to a charming, cosy cottage style home, our first impression was “sweet”. We are in the small the lounge at the front of Ta Karmnu with a stone archway leading down a few steps. Here is a bright impression of the Mediterranean scene outside reflected through white double terrace doors.
Passing through the dining area we open the doors to an idyllic picture of palm trees at the foot of a large pool terrace in a fabulous countryside setting. You even have distant views of the Citadel. I pause to genuinely wonder if this generous outdoor space is, in fact, larger than the footprint of Ta Karmnu itself. I can image hours relaxing and soaking up the tranquility here.
Ta Karmnu leaves me with the impression of a “cute” country style cottage, with contemporary furnishings and a lively Mediterranean style painted finish. An ideal getaway for families and couple. I’m sure the outside space dwarfs the wee house itself. Will need to check it out next time. Come and see for yourself". Jules

PROPERTY DETAILS
Ground Floor:
From the comfortable lounge down a few stone stairs you will find yourself in the brightly lit kitchen and dining area to the rear of the house. A round dining table and chairs are comfortably adjacent to the white painted kitchen units with all your self-catering facilities found here.
Beyond the kitchen you will find Bedrooms 1 and 2 on the ground floor. Both bedrooms have twin beds. Bedroom 1 has an ensuite bathroom. There is a family shower room next to Bedroom 2, handy for the living area. We strongly advise Bedroom 2 is more suitable for young children as is the smallest of the 3 and a tight space for 2 adults.
First Floor:
Between the kitchen and lounge, there is a stone staircase leading to the first floor. Here, you will find Bedroom 3. This is a spacious bedroom with plenty of “oldie worldie” charm. With lovely original stone arches, it has a double bed and a shower room, ensuite. Bedroom 3 also has the advantage of a balcony where you can enjoy hours overlooking the pool and panoramic countryside views with the Citadel in the far distance.
Outdoors:
The scope of outside space that comes with this charming cottage, is surprising. A generous pool with a large terrace surrounded by palm trees and countryside, offering a tranquil setting to enjoy a lazy day with BBQ, sunbeds and outdoor dining furniture. There is also a feature stone dining table and benches, with the benefit of not blowing away if the wind plays up.
A small wall either side provides privacy but still allows a view of Gozo’s peaceful countryside.
Additional information:
All bedrooms have ceiling fans and AC. Ta Karmnu has a ‘pay as you go’ coin-operated air-conditioning system (€1 & €2 coins). Each AC unit consumes around €2 per night.
The villa has stairs to access the first floor
Village of Ghasri
The village of Ghasri sits amongst the fields and valleys of rural Gozo yet is within 3.5km of Victoria’s commanding citadel and close to one of the best swimming spots on the island. From the villa terrace you’ll easily be able to identify Tal Gordan a flat-topped hill with an iconic lighthouse. It’s a must for ramblers.
From Ghasri village square a road leads to the fabulous valley of Wied l-Ghasri 2.3km from your Gozo villa. The Wied l-Ghasri area is a marvellous place for country walks or rewarding cycle rides especially in winter and spring. The valley ends at the sea wedged between high cliffs where a secluded inlet makes an ideal spot for swimming snorkelling and together with the sea surrounding it a very popular spot for diving.
On the way be sure to stop at the charming old chapel dedicated to the patronage of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The two shallow bays of Xwejni and Qbajjar are both 4.1 Km away. Next to each other they have small pebbly beaches and rocky stretches that lead to clear blue water. Excellent for swimming they are enjoyed by locals and visitors alike and are popular with divers especially beginners. You’ll also find a few fishing boats here and a couple of bars and restaurants on the sea front.
The feast of Ghasri is celebrated on the first or second Sunday in June and is dedicated to Corpus Christi. Victoria has two big feasts one in the third week of July and the other on 15 August.
