“It seems quite odd writing the introduction to a contemporary apartment, actually designed, created and furnished by Chris and I, from a shell. Our idea was simple. As well as adding to our holiday Gozo Villas and Farmhouses, we saw a great opportunity to create “home from home”, with comforts we would personally wish for, to relax. Our vision was to create a superior guest experience where we could also feel at home whilst running our business “hands on”, at any time of year.
Suffice to say, we made exceptional fuss about detail. This created challenges, endless debate and experience, sourcing local marble surfaces to create a breakfast bar with feature chandelier! All potential was explored with enthusiastic local suppliers.
The large Smart TV is Chris’s toy and his choice of underfloor heating for winter months. We chose this apartment for a spacious balcony and glass block divides for privacy. The project of choosing materials, fittings, etc. was challenging, but more so, a great way to understand the way of life on Gozo (a future book?).

Property Description:
Third Floor(D8) of North Block:
You will find our apartment on the 3rd floor of Hillock Residence, in the North block. It has a lift for ease of access.
The front door opens into the main living accommodation. Lovely and bright with sunshine that fills the room from terraced doors to the front balcony. The living space includes a dining table with chairs, a comfortable settee in the lounge area, combined with an open plan (very well equipped) kitchen. A feature breakfast bar is handy for casual dining.
You will also find entertainment amenities including a large flat Smart 55’ TV screen with a Soundbar, Cable TV and free Wi-Fi.
Follow the hall to find the apartment's 3 bedrooms. The first has twin beds and the second, a double bed. There is a good size family bathroom with a shower for the communal area and both bedrooms.
Venture to the master bedroom at the end of the hall, with benefit of full light from the terrace doors leading onto a rear balcony. This has furniture for two, to enjoy views of Qolla hill and the communal pool.
The accommodation has air conditioning throughout which is included.
Outdoors:
You have access to a communal pool and will be given a private access code. This is open every day until dusk in the evening. Jule's apartment balcony has a rattan dining table with accompanying chairs for six 6, to enjoy home entertainment.

LOCATION: Marsalforn
The village of Marsalforn is the main resort on Gozo.
Marsalforn has a small beach cove surrounded by a wide range of dining establishments to eat inside or out. Enjoy fresh fish and local cuisine on the restaurant terraces where you can experience al fresco on the seafront. There are cafes, bars and restaurants to suit every budget and taste. There are numerous official diving and swimming spots with lifeguard supervision surrounding the bays. Popular for snorkelling.
If looking for a quieter spot, you can always find one.
Venture along the coast, about 1.5km, you will find two shallow bays of Xwejni and Qbajjar. Next to each other, they have small pebbly beaches and rocky stretches that lead to clear blue water. They are excellent for swimming, enjoyed by locals and visitors alike and popular with divers, especially beginners. You’ll also find a few fishing boats here and a couple of bars and restaurants on the seafront.
If you continue along the coast a short distance, you will see the famous “Salt Pans” of Gozo. These are square-shaped rock areas that gather seawater, which in the heat, allows water to evaporate, leaving pure sea salt.
Alternatively, follow the Marsalforn Road to the neighbouring popular village of Xaghra with its village square surrounded by local restaurants and bars.
There are two local supermarkets just 250 metres from Jules apartment, together with all eateries, pubs and cafés 250 to 500 metres, or a 5-minute stroll.
There is a good bus service from Marsalforn to surrounding villages and the capital of Victoria with its enrapturing history, a story told well at the Citadel visitor museum – well worth a visit. There is a bus stop at the end of the road to Jules apartment and a good low-cost way of getting around the island.
