“Located in the small, sleepy village of Kercem this century old farmhouse has been remarkably transformed by an imaginative conversion into a holiday home. It is also a stone's throw away from the capital, Victoria.

Walking through the green-painted external door is a pretty picture of a first-floor balcony and an external staircase down to the main door.

By now, with over 16 years of holiday farmhouse experience on Gozo, I should have learned an invaluable lesson. Never, for one minute, underestimate what lies behind that door! Again, I was caught out as the picture is breathtaking, being a personal fan of original features. Here was not just one, but four stunning feature limestone arches stretching from one side of the house to the other. So elegant, they sit comfortably over superior furnishings to create a cosy, picturesque living room. In its day, this was a working mill room. Nowadays, it is reinvented as the new hub of this beautiful home.

I could spend the next few pages writing about this feature mill room but suggest I don’t. Instead, we encourage you check it out for yourself! Jules


Ground floor:

The Valley has a lovely combined open plan kitchen, dining room and lounge. The lounge is found immediately through the front door, leading to a large well equipped galley style kitchen. The dining area completes this picture.
A feature spiral staircase leads you to The Valley’s 3 bedrooms on the first and second floor. We need to emphasise, this property is not suitable for guests who are elderly or with restricted mobility. The staircase is quite narrow and there is no alternative access to The Valleys’ sleeping accommodation.

First Floor:

Here you will find Bedrooms, one and two. Bedroom 1 has twin beds and the other, a double bed. Both have use of a family bathroom in the hallway.

Bedroom 3 is also accessible from a separate spiral staircase from the ground floor. With twin beds, this bedroom is completed with ensuite facilities.

Second Floor:

On the 2nd floor, you will find Bedroom 4 with a double bed and bathroom ensuite. Here, you have a great bonus. Access to a roof terrace that offers some of the best panoramic views of the island and its historical fortress, the Citadel.


Through the rear of the living space, from the kitchen for convenience, you will find the pool and terrace with a patio table, chairs, umbrella, and BBQ. Combined, they are a great reason to enjoy some fine dining at home.

Alternatively, make use of sun loungers and dining facilities on the roof terrace and enjoy panoramic views of Gozo.

Kercem Village:

With a population of approximately 1,700 people, Ta’ Kercem village, nestling on the south-easterly edge of Victoria. It is encircled by some of the most scenic inland landscapes on the whole island.

Surrounding the village lie the Lunzjata Valley, the hills of tal-Mixta and Ghar Ilma, the Pond of San Rafflu and the Xlendi cliffs. It makes an incredible base if you’re on a Gozo walking or cycling holiday. And if art is more your thing, best pack plenty of paint and canvas.

Within easy reach, you also have the village of San Lawrenz and the beautiful sandy stretch of Dwejra Bay while Ta’ Kercem itself has plenty to offer.

The property is situated in a very calm and tranquil area. The closest beaches are Xlendi and Dwejra bay where the famous Azure window was situated.
