Villa Soldanis - by Jules

"Wow! We’d only reached the foot of the external stone stairway that leads from the private road to the entrance but already the view was breathtaking.

We were standing on a large pool terrace surrounded by blissful Mediterranean gardens with lush greenery and olive trees. Beyond the Pergla valley feels like an extension of the garden – as though it’s been placed there purely for your enjoyment.

The valley leads to the tranquil Ghajn Barrani Bay where sparkly blue waters glisten peacefully. A hand glider soared just beyond the cliff edge. I was about to put it on my ‘things to do in Gozo’ list until Doris this farmhouse’s owner reminded me that even being on the 3rd floor of a hotel makes me giddy.

Back to the house. You enter through a long kitchen where the farmhouse conversion respectfully enhances the original stone features and beams. There’s a large wooden dining table here too and beyond a lounge. Each bedroom has its own character and charm and I certainly felt an overall feeling of airy space and comfort about this Gozo holiday farmhouse.

Pergola leaves a lasting impression. If you’re holidaying on Gozo in search of peace and relaxation this is your Nirvana". Jules
