The Gozo Ceramics Festival gives the kids a chance to throw some shapes of a different sort...
For the past few years, Xlendi has hosted the Gozo Ceramics Festival. Each August, local and international ceramic artists and craftsmen demonstrate their talents in the main streets of Xlendi. And while you’re absorbed by the demonstrations of throwing, coiling, modelling and firing, there’s plenty of opportunity for the kids to get involved too, with expert help from experienced potters.
It’s not all ceramics, though. In addition, there will be live music, lots of festival-type food to sample and, later in the evening, Xlendi Bay will glow with the light of hundreds of candles in the magical fjakkolata.
If you’re holidaying on Gozo this August, it really is a lovely, relaxed way to spend an evening.
Gozo Ceramics Festival 2016 takes place on Saturday 6 of August from 7pm onwards.
