In common with airports across the globe, Malta International is having something of a revamp of its security screening procedures. They’re in place now, and the airport is warning travellers departing Malta to expect occasional bottlenecks.
Why you’ll need to be at the airport a little earlier than usual over the next few months.
So, if you’re holidaying on Gozo over the next four months, be aware that you’ll need to be back on the Maltese mainland and at the airport 2 hours before your flight is due to depart. As someone who’s almost permanently back and forth between Gozo, Malta and the UK, I have to say a slight delay really isn’t too great an inconvenience, and it makes complete sense to make the changes in low season, when traffic is at its quietest.
