A Gozo walking holiday? Join the island’s ramblers

Get your boots on to discover the best of Gozo.

Gozo, as you may have noticed, isn’t the largest of places. So you could be forgiven for thinking that a) a Gozo walking holiday offers limited potential and b) there would be no chance of the island having an official Ramblers Association. Yet on both counts you’ll be in for a surprise. Gozo has a long history of walks, and plenty of ramblers eager to discover them. The island may be small, but from rugged cliffs to fertile valleys and picturesque plateaus, it packs a lot in. And that’s before you factor in the forts, villages and watchtowers dotted across the landscape. The very best times to enjoy walking in Gozo are spring and autumn, and this season’s programme of walks has just been launched by the Rambling Association. Best of all, visitors are welcome to join the group for a local’s perspective on the island. To find out whether an organised walk will coincide with your Gozo holiday, call the ramblers on 00 356 9949 7080; 00 356 7959 4267 or 00 356 9942 4030. Planning your Gozo holiday?
